The suspect, Kenneth Nichols, was found inside a home by the owners, who gave police a description of his vehicle, WTNH said.

When Westport police officers attempted to stop his truck on the Sherwood Island Connector, he tried to ram the police car as they merged onto I-95, police told WTNH.

Connecticut State Police and Bridgeport continued the pursuit, and Stratford police arrested Nichols when he jumped out of his car and tried to run, according to Westport News.

He was charged with second-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, reckless endangerment, criminal attempt at second-degree assault, engaging police in pursuit and reckless driving and held on $50,000 bond, Westport News said.
