According to an autopsy obtained by the attorney for Miriam Carey's family, the Stamford woman had three shots enter through her back, one in her left arm and one in the head. The report didn't state how many shots were fired while Carey's 14-month-old daughter was still in the vehicle with her, the National Journal reported.

The autopsy report also stated that Carey had no drugs or alcohol in her system at the time of the bizarre police chase, the National Journal said.

Carey had been treated for postpartum depression but was allegedly being taken off the medication.

Eric Sanders, an attorney for the Carey family, has filed preliminary paperwork for a wrongful death claim against the federal government, the Secret Service, and the U.S. Capitol Police, according to the National Journal.
