Since the holiday season, New York State Police and local law enforcement agencies say they've been “out in full force” to curtail impaired drivers in the region.

On Wednesday night, state police troopers in Middletown stopped Middletown resident Evan Pratt, 22, on Wisner Road for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Further investigation determined that Pratt was under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Troopers also busted Stamford, Conn. resident Jill Burns, 60, on Route 23 in Windham for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Further investigation determined that Pratt was under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

New Windsor resident Travis Sloniker, 29, was also stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation while traveling on Route 9W in Lloyd on Wednesday night. Further investigation determined that Pratt was under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

A fourth arrest was made by state police in Kingston, who arrested a 24-year-old from Rosendale for DWI. Each of the motorists are facing misdemeanor charges and have since been released. All of the drivers are due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
