Stamford Teens Charged with Mail Theft

STAMFORD, Conn. — Three Stamford teenagers were arrested in connection with alleged mail theft in the Cove area Wednesday.

The three mostly took checks and packages from seven different mailboxes on Dogwood Lane, Gary Road and Webb Avenue, police said. A call came in to police around 6:30 p.m. reporting the incidents, and police said they found the teenagers in the area and arrested them.

Two of them had items they took when officers found them, police said.

The teenagers were all male; two are 18, the other 17, police said.

They all were charged with six counts of sixth-degree larceny, six counts of conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, one count of fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny, police said. Their bond was set at $500 each, police said.
