The substitute teacher, whose name has not been released by police, had worked in the district as a substitute for a number of years without any complaints, said Sharon Beadle, a spokeswoman for the Stamford School District. The substitute teacher involved was a 70-year-old man, according to the Stamford Advocate.

“I know that the school is investigating as well as the police,” said Beadle.

No students were directly involved or in danger during the situation, she said. No other people were involved in the incident, she said. The witness went directly to the school principal Camille Figluizzi, who contacted police.

Beadle confirms the man was arrested but did not say on what charges.
