Stamford Police To Be Commended For Arrest Of Man In Mall

STAMFORD, Conn., -- Stamford Mayor David Martin will hold a ceremony commending officers who used what Martin called "a disciplined approach" to arrest a man who was waving what later was found to be a replica gun at the Stamford Town Center on Wednesday.

The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.

Mohamed Boumazzourh, 29, a Norwalk resident was charged with carrying and brandishing a facsimile firearm, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and breach of peace in connection with the incident.
