Three suspects approached the young teens near the McDonald’s Restaurant on Bedford Street and said they had “nice sneakers,” police said. The two teens left the area, but the individuals followed them for a few blocks down to the Tresser Boulevard area before attacking them at about 3:30 p.m., police said.
One teen was wearing Air Jordan sneakers valued at $250, police said. The second was wearing a pair of Nike Foamposite sneakers, also worth about $250, police said.
Three teenagers were arrested shortly afterward in connection with the robbery, police said.
Devante Derisier, 18, 97 Crystal St., along with a 17-year-old male and a 14-year-old male were each charged with two counts of second-degree robbery, first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, first-degree unlawful restraint and conspiracy to commit unlawful restraint.
Bond was set at $25,000 for Derisier, who was held in custody for a court appearance in state Superior Court in Stamford on Monday. The names of the other two teenagers and court details were not released as they are under 18 years of age.
