According to a post on the Stamford Police Department's Facebook page, a car that was stolen from the Stamford Ford dealership in September was recently found in a mall parking lot in New Jersey.

The car was stolen on Friday, Sept. 30, when, at 6 p.m., a black male entered the Ford dealership on Magee Avenue through the service entrance, according to police.

The man went into the men’s bathroom and remained in there for 15 minutes, police said.

He then exited the bathroom and walked through a staff-only door directly to where the car keys are kept, police said. He took a key for a 2016 Ford Edge that was in for service and drove the car off the lot, police said.

The car was located on Oct. 3 in New Jersey, parked at a mall, according to police.

Anyone with information on the suspect or theft is asked to notify the Property Crimes Unit at 203-977-4407.
