Stamford Police Search For Man Who Tried To Lure Child Into Car

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a Hispanic man who allegedly tried to lure a 12-year-old boy into his car Tuesday morning in the area of Eden Road, according to the Stamford Police Department.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:35 a.m. while the victim was waiting for a school bus. The vehicle was described as an older model four-door turquoise Toyota Corolla with brown tinted windows. The Hispanic male operator was described as being around 40 years old, light skin, with stubble on his face, police said. The suspect was wearing a beige colored jacket and a beige colored skullcap, according to police reports. 

The male attempted to lure the victim into the vehicle by gesturing for the victim to approach the vehicle and waving for him to sit in the passenger seat, according to police. The victim stated that when he didn’t move, the vehicle pulled away in the direction of Hope Street, officals said. 

The Stamford Police Department Youth Bureau is investigating and asks anyone with information or who observes a vehicle fitting this description in the upper Hope Street/Eden Road area to call the YB Bureau at (203) 977-4639.
