The award is presented by Latinos United for Professional Advancement. Molina was recommended for this award by the staff of state Sen. Bob Duff, and an awards presentation took place recently at the Lyceum Conference Center in Hartford.

Molina is a 10-year veteran of the Stamford Police Department. She is currently assigned to the Special Victims Unit division, where she investigates crimes of domestic abuse, sexual abuse and elder abuse.

She is instrumental to this unit's success due to her gentle demeanor around victims, but she is tenacious with the suspects who perpetrate. She is bilingual, which is important in bridging the language barrier with domestic victims, and she is constantly called to assist the patrol division with investigations with language discrepancies.

Molina also acts as a liaison between the Police Department and the Latino community. She is active with Neighbors Link, which assists the Latino community in the Stamford area. Molina is constantly called on to give talks on a wide range of topics of concern to the Latino community. Molina is also active in the Stamford emergency medical services system and acts as an instructor for CPR/defibrillator certifications.

She is a mother of three children and resides in the Stamford community.
