Stamford Police Name Motorcycle Crash Victim

STAMFORD, Conn. – The 25-year-old man who died in a motorcycle accident on Canal Street Saturday has been identified as Stamford resident Eric Rios-Martinez.

Rios-Martinez was pronounced dead at Stamford Hospital at 4:03 p.m. Saturday afternoon as a result of the injuries suffered in the accident. Stamford police have stated that he had been wearing a helmet when the accident occurred.

According to police, Rios-Martinez had been traveling south when he struck the front end of a Volvo traveling north, driven by 62-year-old Peter Muhlrad of Greenwich at around 3:20 p.m. Muhlrad has not reported any injuries due to the collision.

The accident remains under investigation by Officers Hugh Mullin and Jeffrey Booth of the Stamford Police Department Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Squad. Anyone who may have any information is being asked contact either officer at (203) 977-4712.
