Stamford Police Looking For Stabbing Suspect

STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford Police are searching for a man suspected of stabbing another Sunday night on the city’s east side, Sgt. Paul Vaccaro said.

The victim told police he was watching a soccer game when the suspect took out a knife and slashed him across the neck, Vaccaro said. The victim also told police he does not have a problem with the suspect, but the victim’s brother is dating the suspect’s ex-girlfriend, and it may have been a case of misidentification, the sergeant said.

A witness corroborated the account given by the victim, Vaccaro said.

Officers were called to the scene and found the victim bleeding, with a stab wound to the left side of his face, the sergeant said. He was taken to Stamford Hospital for treatment, he said.

Police have not yet tracked down the suspect, Vaccaro said.
