Stamford Police Investigate Theft Of Another iPhone

STAMFORD, Conn. — Another iPhone was reported stolen in Stamford by a male riding a bike Wednesday night, police said.

A woman was talking on the phone on Bedford Street when the thief rode up from behind her, snatched the phone, and took off, police said. The suspect was described as wearing a gray hoodie sweatshirt and riding either a 10-speed or large mountain bike, police said.

The victim, 45, said she did not see the suspect’s face, police said.

Many victims have recently reported cellphones being reported stolen by thieves on bicycles. Once the phones are taken, they are quickly disabled and are no longer traceable, police have said.

The phones are then sold for cash, some netting as much as $200, police have said.
