STAMFORD, Conn. -- Police have identified the 56-year-old Stamford woman who died as a result of her in a hit-and-run accident Saturday night.
Kerrie M. Burke of West North Street was killed in the accident, Stamford police said. A second pedestrian, Anthony McFadden, 54, was treated and released from Stamford Hospital after suffering non-life threatening injuries.
Stamford Police are looking for the driver of a Chevrolet Express or GMC Savana van that fled the scene.
The accident occurred just before 7 p.m. on Tresser Boulevard near Greenwich Avenue when Burke and McFadden were struck while they were walking in the area, police said.
Several pieces of the vehicle were left behind at the scene, and police believe it is a gray 1996 to 2002 Chevrolet Express or GMC Savana van.
Police are asking the driver to contact them to explain the circumstances of the collision from his or her perspective.
Police are offering a cash reward for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the operator of the vehicle involved.
