As a pair of probation officers approached 53 Greenwich Ave. at 8:30 p.m. they could detect the odor of marijuana through an open window at the residence, police said. Stamford Police officers were on scene to assist.

The probation officers were allowed inside the unit, and when asked, the brothers admitted they had been smoking marijuana, police said. A search of the apartment turned up several bags of what police allege was marijuana packaged and ready to be sold, police said.

Jonas Georges, 24, and Kevin Georges, 22, of 53 Greenwich Ave., were each charged with sale of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Bond was set at $500 each, and they are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 26.
