STAMFORD, CONN. -- A Bridgeport man is facing multiple drug charges after Stamford police said he was caught with crack cocaine that he intended to sell, the Stamford Advocate reported.
Acting on a tip, Stamford police were waiting for Cedrick Powell, 48, of Chase Street in Bridgeport, when he arrived by train to the Stamford station, the Stamford Advocate said. Powell tried to run off but was stopped by police, according to the Stamford Advocate.
Police said he swallowed a small baggie of what they assume was cocaine, but they still found 25 knotted bags of crack cocaine in his possession, the Stamford Advocate reported. He was released after posting bond on charges that include possession with intent to sell, according to the Stamford Advocate.
