Stamford Police Asking Public To Help Identify Convenience Store Burglar

STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Stamford Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the individual responsible for a burglary caught on camera at a downtown convenience store.

The burglary occurred at Landmark Convenience, 118 Broad St., on Tuesday, April 5, at about 3:02 a.m.

The suspect shattered the front door and burglarized the store, police said. The suspect appears to be a black male, wearing a two-tone hoodie, dark pants and white sneakers, police said. He was in the store for about 10 minutes, until leaving through the shattered door and walking east on Broad Street.

The video shows him breaking the window and climbing into the store. He is seen rummaging through merchandise behind the counter and attempting to open the cash register. 

Anyone knowing the identity of the individual in the security video is asked to call the Stamford Police Property Crimes Division at 203-977-4407 or send a message through the Stamford Police Department's Facebook page.
