Shacquine Narine, 20, and a 17-year-old juvenile also alleged to be involved in an early-morning police pursuit in Greenwich on Friday.
On May 30 at 3:14 a.m., Stamford officers were called to 12 Ranson St., after multiple shots were fired into the residence, police said. The occupants included the two children, police said. Officers recovered numerous shell casings and CCTV video from the area. A CCTV camera captured a newer model Audi fleeing the scene immediately after the shooting, police said.
Early last Friday, Greenwich Police attempted to stop a white Audi that was stolen out of Stamford. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and it crashed shortly afterward, police said. A 17-year-old Stamford youth was arrested near the scene and the other occupant fled, ultimately stealing a Land Rover. Greenwich Police then attempted to stop the Land Rover and the vehicle fled north on Interstate 95 and the chase was discontinued due to safety concerns. At that point the Stamford and Greenwich Police detective bureaus began a joint investigation.
In the investigation and through finding items left behind in the Audi, police identified Shacquine Narine, 20, of Stamford, as the suspect who had fled Greenwich Police and was involved in the Ranson Street shooting.
On Tuesday, Stamford Police arrested the 17-year-old without incident at his home. However, Narine took off running and had to be forcibly taken down when police went to his residence to arrest him. Police said he also had marijuana on him when he was arrested.
Evidence was then collected from the search warrants and we were immediately able to recover the stolen Land Rover used in Narine’s escape. Police discovered the Land Rover stolen in Greenwich on Friday, parked on the dead end portion of St George Street in Stamford. Greenwich Police are processing the vehicle for evidence in their investigation.
Police allege Narine and the 17-year-old were armed with a pair of handguns and a rifle to shoot up a rival's residence and fled in the stolen Audi.
Narine and the teenager were charged Wednesday with first-degree criminal attempt at assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, possession of a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharge of a weapon and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. The teen was transported to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center while Narine was held on a $200,000 bond.
No information on charges involving the Greenwich incident were available.
