STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford man was charged in connection with a pursuit that ended with a Ranger Rover slamming into a wall and police drawing their guns on the driver Tuesday night, police said.

At about 9:30 p.m., a black Range Rover was spotted speeding on Lockwood Avenue, police said. Officers pursued it through the city's East Side, police said. After the vehicle crashed into a stone wall on Frederick Street, officers drew their guns and arrested the driver and a passenger, Stamford Police spokesman Sgt. Kelly Connelly said.

The driver, Marquette Wilson, 18, of 12 Chestnut St., was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, engaging in police pursuit, possession of narcotics and second-degree larceny. He was held on $50,000 bond for an appearance in state Superior Court in Stamford on Wednesday.

His passenger, Tiffany Maldonado, 23, of 18 Chestnut St., was charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of narcotics. Bond was also set at $50,000 for Maldonado.
