Stamford Officials Experience Work Of Firefighter

STAMFORD, Conn. — Several Stamford officials got to experience what it would be like to be a firefighter on Oct. 14.

The Stamford Professional Fire Fighters Association held its annual Fire Operations Day at the Chief Charles McRedmond Training Center, a release said. The city officials got to see and take part in several emergency operations including high angle rescue, vehicle extrication, hazardous material containment, and marine rescue, the release said.

The participants included five members of Stamford’s Board of Representatives: Gabe Deluca, Ben Velishka, Ralph Loglisci, Patrick White, and John Zelinsky. Also taking part was Chris Munger, special assistant to the mayor for emergency planning and training.
