STAMFORD, Conn. — A 33-year-old Stamford man was shot three times during a dispute over a cell phone Saturday, Lt. Diedrich Hohn said.

All three shots hit the man in the leg, and he was treated at Stamford Hospital and released, Hohn said.

Police found a suspect, but released him because he and the victim were uncooperative, the lieutenant said. He added that no other witnesses have come forward.

“We can’t bring it to a prosecutor, because we have nothing,” Hohn said, expressing frustration with the lack of cooperation.

Six shell casings from a .22-caliber gun were found on Greenwich Avenue, down the street from where the victim was found, Hohn said. No gun has been found.
