The shooting occurred at about 12:40 a.m. as the man was about to unlock his door at 38 Alden St., police Capt. Richard Conklin said.

"It appears someone was staking him out and ambushed him," Conklin said.

The victim was able to run to Stamford Hospital, where he underwent surgery, police said. He was in stable condition Wednesday, he said.

The bullet was removed from his body and is in police possession, Conklin said. At least three bullets were found in the man's residence, he said.

There has been an ongoing feud between a group of individuals based out of Myano Lane/Connecticut Avenue and a second group based out of Spruce Street, police said.
