Stamford Man Gets Seven Years For Near Deadly Hit-And-Run

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A city man who almost killed a 17-year-old skateboarder while drunk driving and fled the scene has been sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty earlier this week, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Ramon Martinez-Urbina, 29, pleaded guilty to hitting the teenager who was skateboarding on Willowbrook Avenue before the Chrysler minivan hit him on March 9, 2015,, according to the Stamford Advocate.

The skateboarder went up on the windshield, eventually landing on the sidewalk prior to Martinez-Urbina hitting a stone wall, then a tree and ending in a driveway snowbank. The driver and passenger would run from the scene but police tracked them down and found Martinez-Urbina’s blood alcohol level to be double the legal limit, according to the Stamford Advocate.
