Stamford Man Dies Of Injuries From Motorcycle Crash On Route 1

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 30-year-old Stamford man died Thursday afternoon in Stamford Hospital after suffering serious head injuries when he was thrown from his motorcycle in a crash on West Main Street/Route 1, police said.

The crash occurred around 7 p.m. Wednesday, Stamford Police said.

José David Chacon-Valverde, died at 2:29 p.m. Thursday, police said. 

He was westbound on West Main Street when he lost control of his 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle near Myano Lane and was thrown onto the roadway, police said.

The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is investigating the single-vehicle crash.

Police said that neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash.
