STAMFORD, Conn. - A 28-year-old Stamford man strangled and threatened the 31-year-old mother of his 1-year-old daughter during an argument Sunday, police said.
Oscar Salguero-Ramos, of Stephen Street, called his ex-wife Sunday afternoon to arrange a time to pick up their daughter for a visit, police said. But Salguero-Ramos sounded intoxicated on the telephone so his ex-wife said he could not come get the child, the police report said.
A previous restraining order is in place against Salguero-Ramos, police said. He showed up at her Pacific Street home, police said, and repeatedly banged on the door and called the woman.
She eventually agreed to meet him outside, but police said he grabbed her by the arm and throat and threatened to kill her. She wrestled free and called the police, police said.
Salguero-Ramos was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct, threatening, risk of injury to a child, strangulation and violation of a protective order. He was held on undisclosed bond and scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Monday.
