Stamford Man Charged With Robbery, Sexual Assault In Purse Snatching

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A woman was robbed and touched inappropriately by a homeless man in Stamford early Wednesday morning, according to the Stamford Advocate.

The woman told police that she was opening the restaurant on West Main Street where she works when 29-year-old Ovidio Juarez-Gudiel came up from behind her, the Stamford Advocate reported. He threatened her and took her purse, and also fondled her, police told the Stamford Advocate.

Police were able to obtain a video of the incident, and arrested Juarez-Gudiel later that day, according to the Stamford Advocate. He was charged with third-degree robbery and fourth-degree larceny and held on a $50,000 bond, the Stamford Advocate reported.
