STAMFORD, Conn. A Stamford man was arrested on prostitution charges after getting in the vehicle of a plain clothes officer just after midnight on Tuesday morning, police said.
The officer, a member of the Neighborhood Impact Unit, was doing surveillance in the area of Dock and Atlantic streets, when Tyrone Elliott, 38, approached the vehicle, got in and offered his services to the officer, police said.
Once the suspect was placed under arrest he tried to run from the officer and put up a struggle before being subdued, police said. Officers also found that he had part of a crack pipe, police said.
Elliott was charged with prostitution, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest, police said.
