Stamford Man Charged With Drawing Swastika Outside 'Jerry Springer' Studio

STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford homeless man has been charged with drawing a swastika in feces next to the entrance of the TV studio where "The Jerry Springer Show," "Maury," and "The Steve Wilkos Show" are taped, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Employees of the Rich Forum Media Center discovered the swastika and a Star of David smeared on the glass panel near the entrance on Monday morning, the Stamford Advocate reported.

Police examined surveillance footage from Sunday night and saw someone use a latex glove to draw the symbols on the panel at around 10:45 p.m., according to the Stamford Advocate. The man was identified as 58-year-old Robin Spearman, a homeless man who was located on a street corner and taken into custody on Wednesday, the Stamford Advocate reported.

Spearman was charged with a hate crime and breach of peace, according to the Stamford Advocate. Police told the Stamford Advocate that he asked for a lawyer and idd not discuss the meaning behind the vandalism. He was held on a $100,000 bond and due in court on Thursday, according to the Stamford Advocate.
