Stamford Man Charged With Choking Pregnant Girlfriend During Dispute

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A man grabbed his 12-week pregnant girlfriend by the throat and raised her up during an assault July 18 at her Stamford residence, police said.

George Bernard Scott, 31, of 590 Colorado Ave., was charged with four counts each of third-degree assault on a pregnant woman and disorderly conduct. He is also charged with one count each of second-degree strangulation and second-degree failure to appear. 

He turned himself in to police Tuesday and was arrested.

Police said there was a dispute between the man and his girlfriend in which he grabbed her by the throat.
