STAMFORD, CONN. -- A Stamford man is facing several charges, including home invasion, after police said he broke into his ex-girlfriend's home late Monday and attacked her and a male friend, according to the Stamford Advocate .
Winter Estuaro Mendoza-Lopez, 20, of Stillwater Avenue, is being held on $100,000 bond after being charged with home invasion, first-degree burglary, second-degree strangulation and two counts of assault. Police found him nearby shortly after the midnight incident, the Stamford Advocate said.
Police said they were called on a report of a break-in on Virgil Street. The victim told police that Mondoza-Lopez broke into her apartment, punched her male friend and tried to strangle her, the Stamford Advocate reported.
