Stamford DUI Checkpoint Leads To Carjacker's Arrest

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A DUI checkpoint set up on Tresser Boulevard at Elm Street in Stamford led to the arrest of a Bridgeport man over the weekend who had carjacked another man just minutes earlier, police told the Stamford Advocate.

Michael Banks, 22, opened the passenger door of a Honda and threatened the driver with an unseen weapon and told him to drive, police said.

Just minutes later, the car was stopped at the checkpoint where authorities made the arrest, according to the story.
