Stamford Cops Arrest 2, Confiscate Assault Weapon In Drug Bust

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford police officers arrested a suspected drug dealer as well as a woman buying drugs with her grandchild along and confiscated an assault weapon during a bust on Wednesday, Dec. 18, according to Patch.com.

The arrests came after a three-week investigation by the Narcotics and Organized Crime Division of the Stamford Police Department, Patch.com reported. 

Officers were prepared to serve Jamaal Titus Grant, 31, with a search warrant when a woman in a car pulled up to his residence at 167 Grove St. and they saw a drug deal take place, police told Patch.com. Grant was arrested on drug and weapons charges. 

The woman, Beverly Suarez, 49, of Stamford, had her 6-year-old grandchild in the car with her and was charged with possession of marijuana and risk of injury to a minor.

Upon searching Grant's apartment, police discovered a Cobray CM-11 high-capacity 9mm gun, according to Patch.com.
