Stamford Boy Hit By Car Expected To Recover

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A young boy who was hit by a car on Virgil Street on Thursday, is expected to recover from his injuries, according to the Stamford Advocate.

The 8-year-old boy was injured when be ran into the street and was struck by a car driven by Lilian Prada, 45, who was traveling above the posted 25 mph speed limit, the Advocate said.

The boy, who was covered in blood, received numerous lacerations and contusions, and was rushed to Stamford Hospital for treatment. The child received stitches and was held overnight, added the Stamford Advocate.

Officers investigating the incident said that both the boy and driver were at fault in the accident. Prada was cited for driving over the speed limit. The boy's family was given a verbal warning, the Advocate said.
