STAMFORD, Conn. -- No one was hurt in an early morning fire Sunday at a multi-family home on Stamford's West Side, officials said.
Stamford firefighters responded at 12:20 a.m. to a one-alarm fire in an occupied multiple family dwelling at 106 W. Broad St. Firefighters found heavy smoke in the rear of the home coming from the basement.
Firefighters searched the home but found no trapped occupants.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, which was emanating from a wall of the apartment. Additional crews worked for an additional hour overhauling the area, extinguishing several hot spots.
West Broad Street was briefly closed due to water supply lines in the street.
There were no injuries reported. The Red Cross was requested to the scene to help with four adults and two children who were displaced as a result of the fire.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
