At about 10:26 p.m., officers from Port Chester's patrol division responded to a report that two men were breaking into an apartment. Upon their arrival, officers arrested Guido Celestino Franco, 21, of Port Chester and Brandon Ray Thomas, 21, of Stamford, Conn.

According to witnesses at the crime scene, Thomas and Franco had been knocking loudly at the door. When residents of the apartment went to answer, Thomas and Franco pushed their way inside and attacked two residents, injuring both of them, police said.

Port Chester Police Chief Richard Conway said the injuries were minor, and the burglary victims did not request medical treatment.

Other residents of the apartment complex came to the victims' aid, subduing Thomas and Franco, and holding them until police arrived.

Both Thomas and Franco were charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony.

They were being held at Port Chester police headquarters pending their court arraignment.
