During the motor vehicle stop, Officer James Baker deployed Public Safety Dog Chase, who alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, police said.

A search of the vehicle revealed 10 folds of heroin, police said.

Officers then arrested the occupants of the car, Alisha Wilsnack, 26, and Andrew Vaitruardrok, 25, both of Westport. Each was charged with possession of narcotics.

Vaitruardrok and Wilsnack were both released by the bail commissioner on a promise to appear in court. Each was issued a court date of April 22 at Norwalk Superior Court.

Vaitruardrok had also been arrested on Saturday, April 11, in Westport on a charge of illegal possession of narcotics. In that incident, he was charged with drug possession after officers found heroin when they responded to a medical call at a Westport home, police said.

Officers discovered that his condition was associated with illegal drug activity and found evidence of heroin use, according to police reports.
