Police: Stratford Man Nabbed In Shelton Burglary Suspected In More Breakins

UPDATED: SHELTON, Conn. — A Stratford man was charged in multiple commercial burglaries after he was arrested as he was breaking into a health care building in Shelton early Sunday, police said.

The man, identified as 47-year-old Mark Lindsey of Stratford, was arrested at 9 a.m. Sunday, police said. 

Lindsey was charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal attempt at larceny and fifth-degree larceny. 

Lindsey was held on $25,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on Monday, Dec. 4. 

The arrest stemmed from a joint investigation with the Stratford, Fairfield, Trumbull and Shelton Police Departments. 

"The Stratford Police Department developed Lindsey as a burglary suspect in multiple Fairfield County towns," police said in a statement. 

"A Stratford detective was conducting surveillance on Lindsey in the early morning hours of Dec. 3," the statement said. 

During the investigation, Lindsey was caught in the act of burglarizing the Family Health Care building located at 330 Bridgeport Ave. in Shelton, police said. 

Police also determined that Lindsey was responsible for burglaries at office buildings at 680 and 1077 Bridgeport Ave. during the early morning hours Sunday. 

The investigation remains open, police said, and additional arrests are expected in the case.
