BRIDGEPORT, Conn — Fairchild Wheeler Interdistrict Magnet High School was in lockdown Wednesday afternoon because of a police standoff in a nearby apartment, the Connecticut Post said.

Officers blocked roads near the magnet high school at about 2 p.m. and allowed only buses onto the campus for dismissal, the Post said.

A suspect was barricaded at Avalon Gates on Old Town Road in Trumbull as of 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, with officers responding from both Bridgeport and Trumbull, the Post said.
