Chris Parisi, 19, of Dora Street, was charged with reckless endangerment, second-degree assault, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He turned himself in to police Wednesday and bond was set at $75,000.

Sgt. Kelly Connelly said the attack occurred after an argument in her car as she drove the intoxicated man home. He accused her of using drugs and blamed her for the death of a mutual friend, Connelly said. On Lenox Avenue, the man suddenly pulled the emergency brake on the car, forcing it to stop, she said.

He then grabbed the keys out of the ignition and threw them outside the car, police said. She told police he got out of the vehicle, wanting her to follow him, but she stayed inside the car. He reached into the car and began to pull her hair and jacket, police said.

As she watched him cry outside the vehicle, she took pity on him and let him back in the vehicle, she told police. However, that didn't soften the man's anger, Connelly said, and he was accused of pouring a beer on her as she drove and then breaking the bottle on her head.

She tried to get out of the car, but he grabbed her and smashed her into the center console, police said. The man left the car, Connelly said. Later, he sent threatening text messages to the woman, police said.

She reported the incident to police the following day.

The man denied he hit her when he spoke to police.
