Francisco Murillo-Veliz, 26, of 39 Sherman St. was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Police had been called to a residence on Sherman Street at 1:30 a.m. Sunday on a noise complaint, Sgt. Kelly Connelly said. The couple who were hosting a party were told to turn the music down and they complied, she said.

However, one of the party-goers insisted later that the couple turn up the music, Connelly said, but the 26-year-old woman refused to do so.

The man began to yell and grabbed a picture frame from the wall and threw it, Connelly said. It struck the 26-year-old woman and her, she said.

The man was ordered to leave the residence, but he refused and picked up a chair and threw it at the 26-year-old woman, police said.

He grabbed a second chair and also threw it at her, police said. Both chairs broke after they struck the woman, Connelly said.

The woman was taken to the hospital to be checked after complaining of arm and head pain, she said.

"They located him at his residence, and he offered no explanation to what he did," Connelly said.
