STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 24-year-old Stamford man was in stable condition after he was stabbed multiple times in a confrontation with several men Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Officers were called just before 3 p.m. on a report of a man bleeding in the area of Richmond Hill and Rose Park avenues, police said.
The man was in the intensive care unit but in stable condition Wednesday, Lt. Tom Barcello said. Police have spoken with him but were waiting for him to recover more before questioning him further, he said. He told police he didn't know the men's names but said he recognized their faces.
Police haven't released a motive for the assault but Barcello said they were confident they will be identify the suspects.
"We should be able to track these individuals down," Barcello said. "We are pretty confident."
