According to Hohn here is what happened: The Jeep pulled into the driveway at 24 Woodland Place and a man waiting in the back of the property began shooting at it. The Jeep returned fire as it fled the scene. Each side fired multiple shots during the exchange and numerous .9mm rounds were found on scene.

No witnesses were injured during the incident and local hospitals did not report treating any gunshot victims, the lieutenant said.

Witnesses described the man that shot at the Jeep as a short, skinny black man wearing dark clothes and a hoodie, Hohn said. The driver of the vehicle was described as light skinned, he said.

The Jeep was described as a “newer model,” two-door Jeep, with either North Carolina or South Carolina license plates, Hohn said. The Jeep was not supposed to be at the residence and investigators believe it was set up for an ambush, the lieutenant said.

He is not able to say how many people were in the vehicle or who shot back at the other suspect. Investigators are currently trying to gather security cameras from the area to gain more evidence, Hohn said.

He does not believe it is related to the deadly shooting at Cut Masters last Friday because different weapons were used.
