Darien officers responded to 8 Glenwood Drive in Darien at 9:20 a.m. Sept. 30 on a report of the stolen Jeep, police said.
The Jeep's owner told officers that at some point during the night, the Jeep had been taken from his driveway, police said.
The Jeep had been left unlocked with the keys inside, police said. The other vehicle in the driveway was undisturbed. A neighborhood canvass did not provide any further information.
The Jeep was entered into DMV records as stolen, police said.
At 11 p.m. Saturday, the Stamford Police reported that the stolen Jeep had been involved in a pursuit in that city, police said.
Further investigation determined that the Jeep may have been used during a shooting in Stamford, police said.
The Stamford Police Department retained custody of the Jeep for the investigation, police said.
