Eddie Gonzalez, 27, of no fixed address, was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.

The attack occurred just before 10 p.m. Wednesday at McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon at 261 Main St., police said. The suspect, who was a patron at the bar, punched the 45-year-old bouncer, police said.

The suspect was located shortly afterward, walking on East Main Street, said Sgt. William Brevard.

The bouncer believed he may have suffered a broken nose but declined medical treatment at the scene and said he would go to the hospital later, Brevard said.

Gonzalez was held on $5,000 bond.
