STAMFORD, Conn. — A wanted fugitive from North Carolina was found and captured in Stamford on Tuesday, Capt. Richard Conklin said.

According to Conklin, earlier this month Andre Rollins, 28, of Greenville, pointed a gun at an ex-girlfriend, hit her and pulled her hair before forcing her into her car and driving off with her. He then fled North Carolina before being found at a relative’s house on Sherman Street in Stamford, Conklin said.

U.S. Marshals searching for Rollins went to Stamford police for assistance with the arrest, Conklin said.

He was charged with extradition arrest by warrant and held on $1 million bond, the captain said.
