Crews worked quickly to knock down the flames of the fire, which sparked in the engine of a car and fully engulfed it at approximately 1:30 p.m., Deputy Fire Chief Stephen Shay said. The fire was swiftly put out and the driver was able to get away from the blaze without suffering any injuries.

The front end of the vehicle was destroyed. It was not immediately clear what caused the fire to break out. Traffic was temporarily tied up as firefighters were forced to block two lanes as they extinguished the fire and cleaned up at the scene. No firefighters reported any injuries.
