Police have nabbed a Norwalk teen who allegedly stole $169 from a city boy who was waiting outside a Bedford Street shoe store in Stamford to buy a newly released sneaker, according to the Stamford Advocate.

STAMFORD, Conn. — A Norwalk teen allegedly stole $169 from a Stamford boy who was waiting outside a Bedford Street shoe store in Stamford to buy a newly released sneaker, according to the Stamford Advocate .

The 12-year-old Stamford boy told police that a teen approached him outside the store Tuesday morning, pushed him up against a wall and took his money, threatening to beat him up if he told anyone, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Officers investigating the robbery were able to identify the teen as 18-year-old Jahi McCollum of Norwalk, and had Norwalk police hold him for arrest,  the Stamford Advocate said.

McCollum was charged with third-degree robbery and risk of injury to a child, and was released after posting a $10,000 bond, the Stamford Advocate said.
