STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford Police charged a trio of Norwalk men with kidnapping another man who claimed to have bought drugs from them using fake money, according to the Stamford Advocate.

A resident of Barnstable Road in Stamford reported on Tuesday that he had been assaulted and kidnapped by three men that night, according to the Stamford Advocate. The man told police that he and a friend had bought marijuana from the three men using counterfeit money, the Stamford Advocate reported. After the purchase, the man returned home to find the three men waiting for him, according to the Stamford Advocate.

The man told police that the three men wanted real money and hit him and pistol whipped him, breaking his jaw, according to the Stamford Advocate. They then abducted him and took him to the friend's house, but the friend refused to come outside, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Afterwards they dropped the man back at his house, and the man called police. Stamford Police worked with Norwalk Police to identify and locate the three men, according to the Stamford Advocate.

The three men were identified as 23-year-old Daniel Morgan, 22-year-old David Morgan, and 22-year-old Tre Brown, and all three were arrested, according to the Stamford Advocate. They were charged with first-degree kidnapping and first-degree assault, and held on $200,000 bonds, according to the Stamford Advocate.
