Ali Hassan Munive, 25, of 101 Elm St., is charged with possession of more than four ounces of marijuana, sale of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.

The Stamford Police Department's Narcotics and Organized Crime Squad received information that Munive would be delivering marijuana to a location in the city on Thursday, Capt. Richard Conklin said.

"As he sees the officers walking up, he takes off running. They chase him and tackle him to the ground," Conklin said.

Ten clear sandwich bags containing 143.9 grams of marijuana were found in a bag in Munive's possession, Conklin said. During a search of his vehicle, police found another bag with 16.7 grams of marijuana, he said.

Munive was held on $20,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford on Friday.
