The vehicle was unlocked with the keys in it at an Old Stamford Road residence when it was reported stolen on Sept. 19, police said.

Two days later, Stamford Police recovered the vehicle and told New Canaan Police. Investigators went to work and soon found fingerprints on the mirror that ended up being a match for a Stamford teen, police said.

Police arrested the teen on a second-degree larceny charge Friday at the Stamford Police Department.

Police didn't release the teen's name because he was under 18 years of age.

Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and to take their keys out of the car along with any other valuables.
